Reservation Statuses
Every booking, every status, every time.
A reservation isn't one thing — it moves. Confirmed at booking, guest arrives and gets seated, meal ends and table closes, or they never show up. Without statuses, the book becomes a mess of bookings that 'might' be current, and no-shows disappear into thin air without a trace.
Reservation.Tools tracks every booking through its lifecycle. Staff update status with one tap: seat the guest, mark finished, log a no-show, cancel. The floor plan color-codes tables by status so anyone glancing at it knows what's happening across the whole room.
Statuses feed reports: no-show rate per weekday, average turn time, how many bookings actually completed versus walked. This is the data that tells you whether to take deposits on Saturdays, whether Fridays are worth overbooking, and which guests are costing you covers.
For hosts on a busy shift, it's also situational awareness — red tables are seated, green are free, grey are about to arrive.
Key benefits
Know the room at a glance
Color-coded floor plan shows which tables are seated, free, or about to arrive.
Track no-shows properly
Mark no-shows in one tap — they go into reports, not just into memory.
Measure turn time
Seated to finished timestamps give you real average turn time per table and shift.
Spot patterns that cost money
No-show rate by weekday, by party size, by guest — know where to tighten the screws.
One tap to update
Seat, finish, no-show, cancel — no nested menus.
How it works
- 01
Default status: confirmed
Every new booking starts as confirmed.
- 02
Tap to seat when guests arrive
One tap moves status to seated, timestamp logged.
- 03
Tap to finish when they leave
Table closes, status becomes finished, turn time recorded.
- 04
No-show if they don't come
Mark no-show — the booking stays in reports but the table frees up.
- 05
Reports pull from statuses
No-show rate, completion rate, turn time — all derived automatically.
