Email and SMS Notifications & Reminders

Every reservation has a lifecycle: booked, confirmed, reminded, seated — or cancelled, modified, expired. Handle each step by phone and the hostess is on the line all shift. Handle none of them and no-shows stack up, guests arrive confused, and the floor plan lies.

This is the end-to-end notification engine behind every booking in Reservation.Tools. When a guest books, they get a confirmation. Before they arrive, they get a reminder. If the hostess moves the time or the table, they get an update. If they cancel — online or via staff — they get acknowledgement. All automatic, all through email, SMS, or both.

Each event has its own template, its own timing, and its own channel setting. Pick reminders at 3 hours before or 24 hours before — whichever catches no-shows at your restaurant. Send confirmations by email because guests keep email, but reminders by SMS because guests read SMS. Every template carries dynamic fields: guest name, date, time, party size, venue phone, map link.

Tools like OpenTable and Resy built their reputation on reminders cutting no-shows. The engine that sends them isn't magic — it's timing, channel, and wording. Reservation.Tools gives you all three, editable per event, in every locale your restaurant works in.
