How to get reservations from Tourist.com

Tourist.com is a free directory of local businesses for travellers, and it takes no commission. Reservation.Tools is one of its booking partners. List your venue there, add your booking link, and a Book online button appears on your Tourist.com page. Tourists who click it book straight into your Reservation.Tools booking form. The reservation lands in the app next to all the others, and the guest stays yours — not a marketplace's.

I. Make sure your booking form is active

The Tourist.com button opens your Reservation.Tools booking form. If the form is switched off, the button leads nowhere — so start here.

1. In the app, open the menu (☰, top right) → click the cogwheel next to your venue → Integrations.

2. Under External reservations, find Booking Form Widget. The badge on the right shows its status:

  • Active — nothing to do. Go to step II.
  • Not set up — open it, check the settings and press Save. The form is set up and switched on in one step.
  • Set up, disabled — open it and click the badge to activate it.

Every form setting (party size, advance booking time, terms) is explained in How to set up the reservation form for your website. The same rules apply to Tourist.com guests.

II. Copy your booking link

1. In Integrations, open Tourist.com (also under External reservations). Its badge follows the booking form: Active means Tourist.com guests can book.

2. If the form is not active, the page tells you so and offers Open the booking form settings. Go back to step I.

3. Step 2 on the page shows your booking link. Click Copy.

The link looks like this: https://apps.reservation.tools/form/iframe/?businessId=XXXX&locale=en. It opens in English, because Tourist.com guests are travellers. They can switch the language on the form.

III. Add the link on Tourist.com

1. Click Create a free listing on the Tourist.com page in the app — or go to partners.tourist.com/sign-up. The listing is free and has no commission.

2. Fill in your venue details. Use the same name and address as on Google, so guests recognise you.

3. In the Tourist.com partner dashboard, paste the link you copied as your Reservation.Tools booking link.

4. A Book online button appears on your Tourist.com page. Open your listing and click it once to check that your form opens.

IV. Where the reservations arrive

Bookings from Tourist.com come through your booking form, so they follow its rules. With Auto confirm on, a free slot is confirmed instantly. With it off, the booking arrives as a request for you to approve. Either way, the guest is saved in your client list with their phone and email — ready for confirmations, reminders and their next visit.

Tips

  • One form serves your website, Instagram, Google and Tourist.com. Change a setting once and it applies everywhere.
  • If you switch the booking form off later, the Tourist.com button stops working too. The Tourist.com badge in Integrations shows it straight away.
